What is
Five-a-Side?

Small-sided pitches, rebound boards on all sides, five players on the pitch and ball in play as much as possible. It’s the fastest, most social version of football there is, and it’s what we’ve built 9 pitches around.

Why it works

Football, concentrated.

01

More touches

You'll touch the ball far more than in an eleven-a-side game.

02

One hour, done

Turn up at 7, play at 7:05, and be done by 8. No two-hour Saturday commitment.

03

Any level

Ex-NPL players and total beginners both have a good night. Boards keep the ball in and the game fast.

04

Built for teams

Rock up with a full team of five, or come as a single team looking for a competition: we'll help you find your feet. Men's comps run 12 weeks; other divisions vary by season, and finals are always included.

The rules

How a game runs

The basics+

Five a side, including the keeper. Rolling substitutions, no offside. Games are two 20-minute halves in comps, or whatever you like in a social booking.

Boards and walls+

Our rebound boards mean the ball is in play at all times. If the ball hits the back net on the full, it's the keeper's ball. The ball is allowed to travel above the height of the board, but we encourage players not to kick it into the carpark!

The keeper+

The keeper must play the ball out with an underarm throw or a kick off the ground. The circle belongs to the keeper — attackers going in risk giving a free-kick away, defenders risk a penalty kick being awarded. No picking up a back pass either!

Contact and fouls+

All fouls are direct free-kicks (you can shoot), and referees have cards and will use them. Player safety in cage football is the most important aspect — respect the opposition, the referees and the rules!

Footwear+

Turf shoes or moulded studs only. No metal or bladed studs: they tear the surface and hurt people.
